Island Emu Tasmania sells
blown emu egg shells to
both the art and craft markets.
Emu eggs have 3 layers of
colour with the outer layer
being emerald green, the next
layer is blue followed by
white.
The emu eggs are emptied of
their
contents through one 3.95mm
hole in the large end of the
egg shell before being graded
for size and quality. They are
graded as firsts, seconds and
thirds and come in in a range
of 5 sizes, from extra small
through to extra large. Extra
small emu eggs and extra
large emu eggs are both quite
rare and there are only
minimal quantities available
each year. More information.
